Local search and AI, for Michigan businesses
A working resource on using AI in marketing without damaging your search visibility. Two in-depth guides sit at the centre of it, one on local SEO execution and one on AI across the wider marketing job, both written for how business actually works in Michigan.
Start with one of these
Both are long, specific and meant to be worked through rather than skimmed. Pick the one that matches the problem in front of you.

AI Techniques for Michigan Marketers

What this site covers
Four areas, chosen because they are where Michigan businesses actually lose ground.
01
Local search in Michigan markets
The state is not one market. Metro Detroit, West Michigan, Ann Arbor and the north behave differently in search, and the tactics follow from that.
02
AI workflows that hold up
Where these tools are genuinely good, where they fabricate, and how to tell the difference before it reaches a live page.
03
Measurement and reporting
Turning Search Console and GA4 data into a prioritised list of work instead of a monthly screenshot nobody reads.
04
B2B and manufacturing
Michigan runs on supply chain, tooling and engineering services. Consumer e-commerce advice does not transfer.
Why you can trust what is here
A site about using AI responsibly should be honest about how it was made.
1
Real data before anything else
Claims come from Search Console, Keyword Planner, Census figures or named sources. Where a number is an estimate, it says so.
2
Written, not generated
AI is used here the way the guides recommend using it: outlines, variation and analysis. The prose is written and edited by a person.
3
Limits stated plainly
Every guide includes what not to do and where the approach stops working. Advice without limits is marketing, not help.
A marketing and systems student in Metro Detroit
I am Adam Rockensuess, finishing a BBA in Digital Marketing and Information Systems at the University of Michigan-Dearborn. Certified in Google Analytics and Google Ads Search, with coursework in campaign analysis, performance marketing and business data tools, plus a social media marketing internship exercise with Isuzu Motors America.
That mix is the reason this site leans on measurement rather than opinion. The marketing half decides what is worth doing and the systems half checks whether it worked.
Found something wrong?
If a figure is out of date or a tactic has stopped working, I would rather hear it than leave it up. Questions about applying any of this to a specific Michigan market are welcome too.
